The Record Exists Independently of the Surface

One representation, many appearances.

A website is a surface. A listing is a surface. A map profile, a marketplace page, a local feed item, an AI answer, an agent response — all surfaces.

Surfaces come and go. Platforms rise, change their terms and decline. If the representation of an entity lives inside a surface, it inherits that surface's mortality.

The surface can change. The record persists.

What this buys you

  • —Consistency: one fact, rendered many places, rather than many drifting copies.
  • —Portability: leaving a platform does not mean rebuilding your information.
  • —Auditability: a single place to ask why a fact is what it is.
