Business Records as Digital Twins

Industry has modelled machines this way for a decade. Local commerce has not.

A digital twin is a maintained model of a physical thing, updated as the thing changes, used to answer questions and drive decisions. Manufacturing has treated equipment this way for years.

Applied to a business, the twin holds what the business is, does, offers and can commit to right now — and emits an event when any of that changes.

Why the analogy is useful

It moves the conversation away from publishing and towards operations. Nobody asks whether a twin ranks. They ask whether it is accurate, current and instrumented.
